Kyiv, the dynamic capital of Ukraine, seamlessly combines ancient architecture with contemporary culture. Located along the Dnieper River, it is celebrated for its significant religious sites, including the impressive Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and the beautiful St. Sophia's Cathedral. As a central hub for both politics and culture, Kyiv has been instrumental in shaping the history of Eastern Europe and continues to impact modern Ukraine. I visited Kyiv several times, with my last trip in the summer of 2013, before the Maidan protests, the annexation of Crimea, and Russia's invasion in 2022. These photos capture both the well-known and the more secluded parts of the city.
